The AMA Celebrates National CPR Week By Rollin Out Free, 1-Minute Training Video

The week of June 5^th is National CPR Week and to celebrate it, the American Heart Association’s has produced a one-minute video highlighting CPR basics to instruct viewers how to aid an individual during cardiac arrest.

The AMA understands there is still a lot of educating to do. Only 30% of Americans, according to their figures, know how to properly administer CPR during an emergency. That said, a recent study in Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes found that individuals who watched a brief training video are more likely to assist a victim of cardiac arrest. When every second counts, this assistance can save a life.

The video provides an overview of “hands-only” CPR, a technique which bypasses rescue breathing and is also a frequent topic of discussion in this space.
