Professional, knowledgeable, and fun. I have used Surefire 8 times now and will use no one else to recertify my CPR/BLS. As a healthcare professional, I need to keep my CPR current. The facility is CLEAN. The instructors are professionals that work in the field and provide useful anecdotes during instruction. I highly recommend SureFire CPR.
I just want to say that the level of confidence I have leaving this place is amazing. I have yet to come across a training facility this good. A special shout to my trainer N. Pellerin you did an awesome job at keeping us entertained and focused! I love the stories you shared with us and for being an amazing teacher. Thank-you.
I came here to renew my BLS. The registration of classes online was simple and they had plenty of dates to fit into my busy schedule. The actual location was easy to find. Their classrooms were clean and well kept. This course was great, everything was simple and streamlined, no fuss or complications. I’ll be back in 2 years to get recertified!
I spent 15 years as a firefighter and paramedic, and I know that BLS training can save a life…
And too often I would arrive on the scene of someone unconscious, surrounded by a circle of people feeling helpless. Sometimes those people would even have CPR training but lacked the confidence and experience to act.

Basic Life Support (BLS) is a CPR class specifically for health care professionals that provides immediate care in life-threatening situations through techniques like CPR, AED, and more.
When you complete a BLS course, you’re becoming an American Heart Association approved provider to administer CPR in the event of cardiac arrest. Getting a certification means that you’ll be prepared to use those skills in your career.
Once you receive your BLS certification card, your card will be valid for 2 years.
BLS training is recommended for healthcare providers including MAs, DAs, EMTs, paramedics, RNs, dentists, pharmacists, MDs and anyone else who works in the medical field.
Our BLS hybrid course allows you to complete the training modules online. After completing the online portion, you’ll schedule a brief in-person skills check at any of our locations. To register for our BLS hybrid course, click here.
The Basic Life Support class covers adult, child and infant CPR for single and two rescuer, the use of an AED and bag valve mask, and choking for all ages.
The class format includes instructor lecture, videos, and skills practice. At the end of class, you will complete a skills test and written exam.
The Basic Life Support Instructor-led Initial and Renewal classes are scheduled for about 3.5 hours.
For the BLS Hybrid course, the online portion takes about 30min to 1.5 hours to complete and the in office skills check is about 20-40min.
After you successfully pass the class, you will receive an email within 24 hours from the American Heart Association with directions on how to claim your certification card. All American Heart Association cards are digital and be accessed anytime.
The American Heart Association recommends that you have access to the book while your certification is current but it is not a requirement to have one during the class. We have books available for purchase.
We do provide a study guide in your confirmation email that you can print out and bring with you to class.
For the instructor led BLS course, we offer 3 units of CE’s for the CNA and EMS board.
For the BLS Hybrid class, all license types can receive CE or CME’s through your AHA student platform after completing your online modules.
