Orange County is the third most populous city in California and is continuing to attract all kinds of citizens, young and old, for its pleasant climate and beautiful beaches. With such a large population and a plethora of activity, there are more chances that you may witness an emergency like cardiac arrest, drowning, choking, cuts, and falls.
According to research conducted by the American Heart Association, there are 326,000 cardiac arrest cases in the United States every year, and they most often happen when the victim is at home or out-and-about. Fellow citizens are most often the people who will respond first to these emergencies and are the most important component to the victim’s survival. Unfortunately, only about 30% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest victims even receive care from fellow citizens and bystanders because most people don’t know how to help.
If you would like to be prepared to help in an emergency, whether for a family member, a stranger, or a colleague, look into CPR and First Aid certification in Orange with SureFire CPR.
