WHAT IS A BLS CERTIFICATION?
Basic Life Support (BLS) refers to a lifesaving skillset employed by medical professionals, first responders, and other emergency-response individuals to provide successful aid for those experiencing respiratory distress, cardiac arrest or an obstructed airway. Obtaining a BLS certification is proof that you have completed an accredited course in which you learned skills such as adult, child and infant CPR, choking treatment, automatic external defibrillator (AED) use, advanced breathing barrier and bag vale mask skills, two-rescuer CPR and more.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A BLS CERTIFICATION?

Yes, BLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association the American Red Cross do expire. Certifications from both organizations must be renewed every 2 years to stay valid.

BLS Certification in Los Angeles: What You Need to Know
Our BLS certification course focuses on the following topics:
- How to perform one rescuer and two rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs)

Our BLS course is intended for EMTs, dentists, pharmacists, registered nurses (RNs) and other medical personnel. Each BLS class requires approximately 3.5 to 4 hours to complete. Upon successful completion of a BLS class, we provide a BLS certification card that will stay valid for two years.
