Infant CPR and First Aid – The worst case scenario

There are few thoughts more terrifying than checking on your new baby and having her not respond.  You roll her over and realize that her lips and fingertips are blue.  Your heart drops and you feel a lump in your throat.  What do you do?

There are few skills more important than CPR.  The sad truth is the vast majority of CPR classes are comparable to a dental deep clean.  Many parents will tell you that taking a class on infant CPR and first aid is something that has been on their “list” since their baby was born.  These things get overlooked and life gets in the way.  I’ll bet these are on the list too:

  1. Put pictures in the album from the last vacation
  2. Starting the new gym program
  3. Cleaning out the garage

Incomplete picture albums, a few extra pounds, or a dirty garage can wait.  When I was growing up, I had a picture on my wall that said, “No one ever died from sleeping in an unmade bed.” Perfect, huh?  When my mom would tell me to make the bed, I could just point at the sign.

Unfortunately, Infant CPR and First Aid is life and death.  Although you may never have to use it, it is something that you must be ready for.  The worst case scenario of infant CPR is being unprepared.  A couple hours of your time could save your child or the life of your friend’s child.  Don’t leave the CPR class on your list.  The garage can wait…

I spent 15 years as a firefighter and paramedic...

And too often I would arrive on the scene of someone unconscious, surrounded by a circle of people feeling helpless. Sometimes those people would even have CPR training but lacked the confidence and experience to act.

That’s why I started SureFire CPR. Our classes are practical and engaging – teaching you the crucial skills you need to know what to do and feel empowered to take action.
