EKG Level 1 starts with the basics of waves, lines, and intervals. We start at the very beginning with a simple, easy to follow format and build from there.

Learn all of the basic waves: P, Q, R, S, and T and the difference between complexes and segments.

If you can't determine the rate, you'll never know the rhythm. We'll teach you different methods to ensure you can determine any heart rate.

When you finish up this course, you'll have a simple, 5 step method to guaranteed rhythm interpretation. We'll also teach you how to recognize the most common rhythm set - Sinus Rhythms.

I want to be successful in ACLS, PALS, or NRP. Which courses should I take?

EKG Levels 1 & 2 cover the basic heart rhythms that you will see in ACLS, PALS, and NRP. If you'd like to feel even more confident in your EKG skills, we recommend Levels 3 & 4 as well.

Can I learn EKG online?

Absolutely! We have a proven method to increase your EKG interpretation speed and skill, all while working at your own pace online.

How long will the course take to complete?

The EKG Level 1 course will usually take about 1 hour and you can start and stop at your own pace.

Does this course qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEUs)?

Yes! This course is approved through the CA Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) and Orange County EMS for 1.0 hours of CEU. Need more CEUs? Register for our EKG Pro Package for 10.0 hours!

Does this course certify me to be an EKG Technician?

No, if you are looking for a career as an EKG Technician, there are roughly 50+ hours of required training and testing. The Level 1 course is a 1 hour introduction into how to understand and read basic EKGs.
